Yeah, an area that big that would require that much filler would crack. I really don't know of what you could do short of cutting that piece out, plastic welding in a new piece and filling the "welds". That would be pretty hard to get the same contour of the bumper and you'd probably always...

Sicne you have a 4.6, you can use either the T45 or the T3650 but guys tend to favor the T45 because they are a little stronger, however to answer your question, 96-04 5 speeds should fit.

My 6 banger is the stock y pipe with gutted cats and a flowmaster muffler with no muffler and I get compliments on it but be ready to smell your exhaust with the windows down in traffic. lol
