    5.0 parts/build questions

I know nothing about nitrous. I do know that 90k on a set of rods and pistons isn't bad. As long as the engine wasn't abused, and you plan on normal driving. I'm a believer in building the engine stronger then you need. Spending more money now will save you time and money in the future. If you...

    428 or 429

You can poke and stroke a 460 to over 500ci. Plop a Jon Kaase intake and heads on it and you can get over 700hp. Big Bucks tho... 351w parts are pretty comparable to 302w prices. When you get into FE engines the prices go up and parts get rare. I think you might be thinking 351 Cleveland when...

    Do I have a 1968 Shelby block?

67 Chris, Don't get too down. 69 blocks are cast with a bit more iron than the 80's and 90's 302 blocks. They can put up with more abuse, and can be bored out more. .050 verses .030. I've heard .060, but that's kinda pushing it. I have a 1969 block in my fox body and Beat the hell out of it. The...

    5.0 parts/build questions

As for prices, I would call a few machine shops in your area, prices very drastically from shop to shop. The few shops that I have been talking to don't give out price lists like they used to. They explained to me that they stopped this practice because of the newer engines have been blowing...

    5.0 parts/build questions

Personally, I would hot tank it, hone, rings and have the shop put cam bearings in it. Inspect the crank. If it had low oil pressure the crank may have some wear. As for Points, you can go with a petronics type system. The kit system drops in the distributor where the points would go. It's a...

    H pipe overrated? 95gt

From what I been hearing, it adds 15 to 20 hp. If you are running open headers, wouldn't the added 15 to 20 lbs. from the h pipe negate the added horsepower?

How Much Power Does a 347 Make?

Thanks again for all of the replies, I was just looking for a ball park figure to see if it would be worth building a stroker. Also, I figured that it would be good to get a few opinions from people that have experience with strokers.
