I have the vinyl top and use this product they have a cleaner then every couple weeks I apply the guard on it.I have been happy with it but the car is garage kept and not a daily driver.Just what I use hope it helps you. http://www.autogeek.net/303fabcontop.html

The color is redfire code G2 but I am going between the 4 inch or 2 1/2 cowl hood.I am not sure how much vision you would lose.
