I have a 1997 GT with 56k miles on it. Bilstein Shock Struts, Cobra Brakes, Cobra R Hood, PI Swap. The car does need a tune since the headswap was done, but that can be done soon.

Yes, Saturday is more of a club day but if you have a car group of 10 or in years past in NYM's case 30 plus cars you will go out in your own group. Either day won't matter for that.

Opening Weekend is both Saturday & Sunday. Last year NYM had there session on Saturday.

You are always going to want more power or wish you did something different, that is just part of the hobby. I would keep it clean, do a few simple but clean mods and enjoy it for a few years. Everything will fall into place and the right time will come for a GT.

I have a pair of stock shocks with 55k I will let go cheap or a pair of Strange 10 way adjustables (still on the car) but can remove them.

With cams, intake, and full bolt ons you will meet your goals and can do it for way less than 5k. I would also get a tune to tie your combo together.
