Sounds like the voltage regulator which is not part of the alternator on the 5.0 up to 95. It is on the passenger side near the headlight, if it is a 2 wire alternator . I would check the voltage at the battery at idle, should be in the 14.6 range. if below than the regulator is crap if good...

With the sn95, your year, you have a mid muffler setup that is separate from the over axles. Tips can be changed and not mean anything. Best bet is to get under and look. Sorry for the no help. Sweet ride :D

Pump is toast. that thunk ow the impeller trying to engage. Kind of like a starter motor when it wants to engage but just the solenoid engages.
