    Mike's 302 to 351W Swap.

Typical two steps forward one step back..... First off got the Yeti opener installed! Heads torqued, rocker studs and guide plates loosly installed for adjustment. Come to find out the rocker studs are the wrong size.... Old on the left, new on the right.....

    F/S ARP Rocker Studs

Hello, Up for sale is a basically brand new set of rocker studs from ARP. These are product number 100-7101. I installed them in my engine with some Permatex thread sealant and found out they are the wrong size for my rockers/poly locks. About half have a little Permatex still on them but you...

    Mike's 302 to 351W Swap.

Gonna be tough. Lots of travel starting tomorrow into the first 2 weeks of April for work. Hopefully this weekend we can get the engine mostly assembled.

    Mike's 302 to 351W Swap.

Got some more done on the car over the Holiday weekend, not much but its progress. Picked up a set of 9333PT1 gaskets as recommended by a buddy. Cleaned up the upper 'train hardware from the old moly-lube remnants. Opened up my new tube of moly-lube. And go figure..... Got the...

It very well could be where the piston sat after being rebuilt for 1.5 years. The bores all do feel smooth even through this spot. I really do think its a mark made by the builder or residue from assembly somehow. Thanks for the input!

    Never seen this Before?

That is a nice truck! I was seriously toying with the thought of buying the Lightning whole, but just couldn't justify it with all the rot/rust. Just too far gone. I am definitely more of a truck guy, but these Fox cars are a blast to drive. Someday I want to build a turbo 302 ranger. Sent a...

At first that is what I though, but the I gently hit it with scotch brite and a little came off. It is some type of stain.

Yeah, I'm all for this forum but sometimes the extra traffic on a larger forum like that helps you answer questions. However sometimes at a cost of stupid remarks/opinions.

I'm leaning more and more that way, the opinions have won me over. Will be chasing the threads tonight. Tomorrow I'm picking up some Fel-Pro 9333Pt-1's and Autolite 3924's.

No, but you are correct at the top. There is some oil there. Look down further in the slug, you will see a darker gray "coin slot" area. The wall feels smooth all the way down across this area. I think it may be some type of discoloration but not sure what from? Check out my build thread...

    Mike's 302 to 351W Swap.

A little heavy on the silicone. Removed heads to check slugs for peace of mind. Some discoloration I'm trying to figure out.

Long story short I had my '94 Lightning Roller Block bored 0.030 over and had flat tops installed about 1.5 years ago. Builder and I split ways on rough terms after several missed deadlines and blowing off meetings. Got the engine back supposedly finished, however valve train setup was horrid...

Winter Projects,Mild Winter anybody working on their Stang?

Its a 71 or 72 fastback IIRC. I looked through my phone but couldn't find any pictures. Nice solid car. Its very original so its getting a valve job. Some blue smoke on start and heavy throttle. Compression tests out good.

I've also got a friend doing a head refresh on a early 70's. Hopefully we can get some cruising in this summer.

    Mike's 302 to 351W Swap.

Got the poly'd table tops installed under the stairs. On the lookout for a piece of plywood to put inder the stair treds to prevent debris from falling off the treads onto the workbench.

    Mike's 302 to 351W Swap.

Still working in the basement! Started out with 1 coat of Minwax Poly, but it smelled-up the whole house so bad for days! So went back out and got some ZAR Ultra Max, man this stuff hardly has an odor. I hope it holds up to the job of greasy car parts and tools. This was the first bench we...
