Waste of $$. It's a great part... but unless someone is spinning a motor to like 9,000 rpm theres no point to it. Get a stock replacement, or if you really want an aftermarket dizzy... check out procomp.

Everyone loves that freakin E-cam. I hate it. Anything built to work with stock junk isnt much better. Sure it might 'sound good' but how important is that when your still slow as hell. I know everyone loves it, so I'm going to duck before I get yelled at. :)

Could be many things. A pop is usually timing related. If you mash the gas to the floor, get a hesitate then a pop or sputter, it's probably running to rich. Also could be a sticking valve, depending on the mileage...

Thought I would point out that I did this to my 94 Ranger a couple weeks ago. It made a huge difference one that too... must be something about Ford throttle pedals.
