I know I'm a late comer to this thread, . But it's hard to tell with no description or photos I have no idea on the pros or cons of your car. Here's what I'm seeing so far. A 72 Grande with a bad motor, selling for $6k. Take the money and run.

Do you have a photo of the missing chunk? The one photo I see doesn't look terminal. So the car had white smoke out of the pipe, did you have antifreeze in your oil? How'd the plugs look? Did you have to keep adding antifreeze? Is the car stick or auto ?

I'm curious what damage is in the photo? I only see a carboned up piston(kind of normal on older motors with some mileage) and sludged up oil in the lifter valley(not a lost cause,you can clean that up) . Just to get a better idea what was the plan when you pulled the heads, I don't know the...

Hi, If the brake lights worked fine throughout the pedal travel before, then I would not say the pushrod. Without seeing it first hand it sounds like a bad brake light switch,they do go bad and will give you the symptoms you are having. Not to throw parts at the car but I'm 99.9 percent...
