May cost some cash, but Try a "Rubber bullet" Craytex wheel on a dremel tool to buff out the scratch, then use a wire polish head for the dremel with a decent amount of polish grit, then switch to a horsehair brush with very fine polish grit.... A guy I work with polishes punches for...
