Yes very basic. Jackstands will do with some sockets. You can leave the stock manifold (headers) in, I have no cats and pass inspection. I have Pypes offroad x pipe and magnaflow magnapacks. Never had a problem with inspection or engine light. But the Guy who does my inspection is a friend. So...

If you can get a sound clip or something cause exhaust sounds are different from fuel related issues usually. Any additional info would help

Yea stock is 3.27's. That's what mine is now also and I have a 99. I'm going with 4.10's though when I get around to doing my gears.
