Will any 9" rear end fit in a 1966?

You will need to take some drum to drum measurements, I have a 9" rear in my car that came from a early 70's econoline van, It needed to be shortened. I dropped my 8" and the new 9" rear off at the shop so all the measurements could be taken including spring perch locations.
