    get a pry bar and gently pull/push the fork towards the cable, this is best done with 2 people cuz sometimes it gets to be a pain in the ass especially by yourself

    Timing questions

    You set the cam in the wrong position. the pointer shouldnt be pointing up if the crank is at TDC on the timing mark on the crank pulley. Theres 3 plastic tabs right under neath the cam gear and the pointer should be pointed as close as possible to the middle tab while the crank is at TDC.
