What is the real deal w/ synthetic? I only have 1,100 miles on the car over a year and same oil. Checked the oil, level is good and it is clear as a bell, like just filled, but I guess the molecular composition of the oil is breaking down.
I'm no expert but ive been told that oil should be changed every 6 months (besides from the basic 3-5k oil changes. My uncle has a classic Camaro and he only puts about 1-2k on it each year but he always changes the oil every couple of months just to get new fluids in the car.

I only use mobil gas in my car and mobil oil filters and I use fully synthetic mobil oil, which I hear is some of the best to use. If the car doesn't get driven often you still need to keep changing the oil regardless.
