I put an F-cam in a bone stock motor and just upgraded valve springs. The car however was mass air with stock injectors, intake and heads but had BBK Equal lenghth shorties, O/R H-pipe and 4:10 gears with a 5 speed. Car ran great and went 13.8's on street tires. I did hurt a couple stock pusrods though so I would upgrade them as well. Good luck and I hope it all works out for you. And ALWAYS check you P/V clearance with ANY cam!!

This is a very true statement as well. You have many options and I wil always push for spending the $ once instead of going back. You should really tell us what your overall goal is then we can better recommend the combo for you!

It was an '87 with a mass air swap. A set of GT40P or X heads could help make that cam useful. I would go with some AFR's or Vic Jr's if it was me though!!

well if all youre looking for is 250 hp or 13's then you dont need much. just get 1.7 rockers, stock cam and a cobra or gt40 intake. SD cars can go plenty fast in the right hands and it does not in any way require a head change or other big mods to get what you want. I dont know what you have already, if you have an intake and an e cam then there is no reason to change that.

why do people say that 1986 mustangs would have a p/v clearance problems and 85 - 94 short blocks dont have as much clearance issues can some tell me what the difference in lift the blocks can handle?

86 has flat top pistons with no valve reliefs. The others have a slight dish with reliefs.
