I have a 89 notch with following upgrades:stock heads milled/minor port work, Edelbrock perf. up/low intake, 65mm throttle body, 73mm mass air sensor, 24lb injectors, shortie headers, Flowmaster catback exhaust and BBk off road pipe. The car is running too lean and I want to richen it up but am uncertain how to... I have been told I have to change the mas to a ford lightening sensor because of the 65mm throttle body. I come from a carb backround and F.I knowledge is limited when it comes to trouble shooting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Well even if the maf is "matched" for the 24 lb injectors they can still be off quite a bit. Your best bet would be to get it tuned, so they can see the a/f ratio and go from there. Before you get a tune I would suggest investing in some good aluminum heads if you can. Then you can just get it tuned once, instead of twice if you decide to get some better heads down the road. Unless you are satisfied with it, and in that case a tune should do you just fine.
Brian: This is a project car that I purchased and am trying to sort out. Everything done to the car was done by p/o's and I don't have any paperwork except for the title. I bought a Nova like this and ended up tearing it completely down and doing a resto. on it and am getting the urge to do the same here. LOL. The car is solid but I think alot of the after market parts were purchased without much thought. Thanks to you and everyone else who has offered their advice. I will be at the Bear Mtn show this wed. if anyone else is around come say Hi... I have the black notch with the crappy paint... LOL I did clean the MAF to no avail...
SO the only issue you are having is the fact that the plugs are white and you want to change it to carbed???
I wouldn't personally.OK, have you installed a vacuum gauge and checked to make sure you are getting what you should? 17-20 at idle with a stock cam is normal. You could have something as simple as a vacuum leak which will make it run lean obviously. Have you checked the codes??? It does NOT have to throw a light to have codes. There are a lot of simple things to check before tearing off all the EFI. In the end it is your car but I certainly wouldn't do that. ALSO, what plugs are you running???? What gap????
