I'm assuming you are replacing the rings?
At a minimum have the block honed (with torque plates) and a good block wash. Have the machinist measure the cylinders with a bore guage and measure your current pistons. That will give you an idea of piston to wall clearance and be the deciding factor or whether you bore it or not.

do i have to have my new pistons in hand at the time they are boring the cylinder walls or can they just bore it and i can order new pistons oversized to what ever they bored it too
