s/c on stock block and add h/c/i later?

ARGHH, my post never showed up earlier!!!
I used had a friend buy a NOVI 1000 new in '04 and it is still going strong. On a dead stock motor 12.48@112 with headers/73mm maf/3.73 gears all else untouched (174k miles!!). 19lbers and FMU still, powerpipe and 3.25 pulley. I had vids of the car and pics. The 1000 is smaller than the S-Trim and the newer Novi 1220 (which is a S-Trim pretty much) but still works good. There are guys in the 10's with them and h/c/i. There is also a guy running 11.9 with 95/95 GTS with a stock motor.
There are TWO different Novi 1000 kits, the 1st one was not best and used the stock serpentine belt to run the SC as well and obviously belt slip was an issue. The revised kit used the SAME brackets and 8 rib pulleys as the Novi 2000 and was an awesome deal at around $1700 new.
Depending on your goals and the price I would buy a 1000 if it is the better kit with the 8 rib setup. Here is the 89 GT I just mentioned as it is now. We added 42lbers and a 80mm MAF and I tuned the car via a custom chip this summer. Hopefully it will hit a 12.2 now still on stock motor. (LOADED car with A/C and stereo system!)

They don't make the Novi 1000 anymore, only the 1220SL which is larger and self contained but around $2100-2200 new. This is better than the 1000 actually, about the same as a S-Trim

i already have a new walbro 255 i was going to use for my 351w swap (which im not doing now) so that will be sweet then....i found this S/C on a local ad and asked the guy about it and this is his response...he's asking $2500 for it...is it a good kit and should i try to get it or just go with a novi or something? thanks

The supercharger was still on the car, the seller didn’t want to take it off until he had it sold so someone could hear and see it run. It was installed on an Adult owned (he was 42 years old) mint 89LX with a baby car seat in the rear. .
He had up graded it to make 18lbs of boost and had meth injection on it. The car Dyno around 500rwp HP, The motor was all stock except for the intake and supercharger and its upgrades.
He took it to the track once, it ran mid 11s twice. He decided he wants to be in the 10s so he is building a 351W stroker motor over the winter. After meeting with him the first time, I called Vortech asked them if I could install this on my 2002 mustang, someone there said yes, I just needed to buy a bracket kit and the intake kit, all for around $450.00.
I purchased the Vortech, took it home, called Vortech and went to purchase the kit. That was when they informed me it wouldn’t work on my 2002. My sons both have GT mustangs, a 90 and a 95 and I’ve though about installing it on one of them if I don’t sell it.

Thats way too much for an SC-Trim, they are the base kit. You can buy the new V3 Sci-Trim which is the price Mike88 posted above. Thats a great SC for the $$, self contained. The SC replaced the old A-Trim. It has a cut down S-Trim impeller, and now has a cut down Si-Trim impeller.
The only limiting factor with the Sc or Sci is the 6 rib pulley setup but really thats not a huge deal, when you want to run more boost get some 8 rib pulleys.
Bob Kurgan can beat Summit or Jegs price too. A guy on Corral ran 9's with an Sc-Trim actually.
Bob sells the complete Si-Trim kit for around $2600, maybe a touch more now.

I just stuck 42lbers and a 80mm MAF and burned a chip for the 89 GT with the Novi 1000. The car ran great since '04 with the FMU and 19lbers but it was time to upgrade. We were always careful with timing and checked plugs, etc. For a motor heading onto 200k it runs awesome.
I have never dynoed any of my cars or friends so no clue what they made, actually my friends 91 GT with a KB we did dyno but it was nothing impressive but still ran 11's at 119.

here are my mods now...i want it to be a fast street car...only street. what supercharger would you recommend for my setup...
car is a 93 gt 5.0 5spd w/68kmi on it...
gt40 upper lower
bbk 70mm throttle body and egr spacer
bbk cai (obviously will change to powerpipe)
f303
exhaust will be mac shortys, prochamber or xpipe and spintech dumps
3g 200 a alternator
optima red top
3:73s
will also have a/c, smog, egr delete...
and what kind of numbers do you think i have now and what can i expect when im done with adding the s/c. thanks again i really appreciate it since i know basically nothing about power adders...

If buying new, the Novi 1220SL or the Vortech Sci-Trim. The Novi 1220SL has the 8 rib pulleys which is a nice upgrade. I don't think either of them comes with the better discharge anymore, so I'd get the better one and a bypass valve.

I'd get the SC kit, 255 pump, 42lber like mentioned above, and a Lightning 90mm MAF, wideband along with a custom tune/chip. You can get away with the FMU fine but you will get more out of it with a good tune.
