Lets talk mods.....A little Q&A.

I bought the steeda ud pullies and i really feel like that was a waste of money, honestly, definitely go with gears (373's or 410s) if you get a CAI buy jlt or K&N. . brand does matter, and get a cat back to help her breathe a lil better also. It all depends what you want though. IF your looking in to track racing her a little i would say get some new shocks to go with those springs, which u should do anyways bnecause old shocks plus new springs = blown suspension. Dense Charger is now known as Demolet Intakes. They make CAIs as well. The way mine is set up, is that the stock rubber inlet tube (btwn the TB and the actual intake) was still there, and then connects to the Denser Charger intake, which then goes into the Fender well. Thank god the MAF was kept at it's stock location! I however, replaced the OEM rubber inlet in favor of the C&L inlet piece...sounds better and definitely felt a difference. Don't know anything about the American Muscle intake.

Edit: This thread is in the 2v section, LOL! stupid me. The CAIs on our motors really doesn't make a huge difference with the tune, or not. I mean, it's better to have the tune so the car won't run rich. But honestly, the cai doesn't make it run too rich...it's only a slight increase. W/o the tune, there will be no harm on our motors....again, I'd personally would get the tune if you did the CAI, but I'd have a few other things done at once, so you can have your custom tune to include other mods as well.
I definitely felt a difference with my Steeda Pullies. Not in so much of a hp gain, but:
a) car drives a lot smoother, especially in higher RPMs
b) some what of better top end

cold air intakes arent so much about power adding as they are about adding more air flow to the entire system, its one part to a multi part system, colder air is more dense so it packs more o2, and if you can add more air volume wise as well as keep it maybe one degree cooler than it would be with the stock set up that means you can add more fuel, if you have more fuel and more air then you can have more timing. like i said its one step in a multi step program lol
Red: What I don't think you are understanding is that the stock piece on these cars is VERY efficient. If you drop in a K&N filter and remove the rubber snorkel you have in effect done what 200 dollars will do for you too.
The 99-04 and 05-09 cars are two completely different vehicles. The New Edge cars do not see the same gains that a comparable 05+ car will.
Just look at the flow numbers of the heads, intake manifolds, throttle bodies, ect. and you will see that the increased flow where the CAI/RAI/STOCK setup is negligible. You will only see gains where you are removing a restriction and honestly the rubber air ducting on a 99+ car is not where it lies.

OK, so save the $200 on a different mod? Because i've already removed the snorkel and replaced the paper with a K&N drop in a couple years back.
Perhaps a TB instead? What exactly is the plenum? I see that some TBs come with it, and others don't.

Correct. Most tunes bump timing to be a bit more aggressive. That is where Ford had placed a restriction. The addition of a tune even on a stock vehicle can yield positive results.
I am right now working out the logistics on making a home built CAI and RAI that everyone here can use on their 99-04 car. Right now I am under 50 dollars and it WILL look very similar to a JLT. Not some of these bullshit redneck hack jobs I have seen.
I will post back on this forum when I get more details and I will test run it on my car first.
