looking for suggestions and information

In july I bought a 11 GT Kona blue auto its a premeuim with the 19inch wheel package.....

I also have a Mint conditon 03 mach1 with 31k on her....
in the last few years I just have lost interest in the mach 1 and I have deceided to sell the car....I have put less than 1000 miles on the car in 2 years and it just kills me to let it sit.

Now the fun news after spending a little of the proceeds from the mach on a winterbeeter... I have decieded to take the rest in my estimate will be about 12 to 14 k and put it into my 11 GT.

My thoughts on this are the mach is cool cause its the mach....
I have never felt right about totaly molesting such a rare car..
I have only seen a handfull in albany.........

But lets be real there is nothing the mach 1 does that the 11 GT cant do
the 11 is incredible hands down.......But it could be faster... and a little more eye catching.....


So here is what I would like to do:


Motor: supercharger and exhaust possbile long tubes....
Borla atak catback....

My question is... which one I think I want a roots blower
but I am not paying 7 grand for the ford kit
I know there are less expensive set ups... do I spend less and then
put the differnce into the bottom end of the 5.0 ??

Also want to tune the auto trany for firmer shifts.....
I would love to have a trick set up with the grade assist
to have it set up for performance and then with the grade assist off
the tranny would work more conservitly....I have no idea if this can be done...... never looked into tuning a auto tranny.....

Cosmetics....

I cant seem to find a set of side skirts and a rear valance that tucks everything in nice.... And all of that would be painted body color along with the side scoups .. side window louvors.... the rear window louvours
will be black....

I also would like to put 10.5 inch rims for the rear tires... I am not sure if this can be done with 19s... and with that I would like to lower the just a inch....

not sure if i am going to be able to do anything with the brakes with my budget but I woudl like to get the bembro calipers and rotors....


This is going to be my first Time doing major mods on a car i want it all to go right the first time. So I am looking for some suggestions on what products are out there and what works and what does not work...

Just my thought from what I have read about the new 5.0.



  1. wait for more confirmation on a supercharger, the high compression makes me worry a little bit.
  2. Long tubes will yield a gain of any were from 10-30 hp est. mostly for sound
  3. I was able to set up a tranny for 2 modes but that was with a stand alone, not sure about the new cars, but a tune will help. more on that later.
  4. Cosmetics......not sure, only saw one set by street scene and it looked like rice.
  5. 10.5's would work but expensive in 19's
  6. lowering it is no problem, many companies make springs for your car.
  7. if money allows, you can do a big brake kit with the factory 19's
  8. I will look around and see what I can find for you to make your life a little easier.

I agree with waiting to see what comes out for the car
was also thinking maybee turbo would be an option..
I might wait on the SC just to see how they all work out.

Ford want way to much for the S/C. hell your car would benefit most from a cai and a tune.

I will do some research, i have a list here of things I have to look up.

+1 I'd wait a little on the SC and see how things iron out with the '11's and there High-compression pistons....3.90's or 4.10's out back would help also!

...Any luck with the Mach 1?

Hell yeah.

Tim Nailed it. 4.10's would definitely give the old butt dyno a great outcome:D

The new 5.0 can put down some awesome times NA, no need to slap boost on it when it's already at a NA happy 11 compression.

Build it NA and be happy/safe :D

All this N/A talk is a really good point. but thing is i dont want to have to
keep doing work twice thats the only reason i was thinking of going SC
so soon...

Have you thought about just running a 100 shot and set the suspension up so it hooks up. It would be thousands less than a blower set up and just as much fun.

I know a 100 shot does wonders for the car :) but to me this is not all about getting down the track

Its about building a car for my self that has certain things I could not do in the past...
