Hello, im Garrett, im almost 18 and i live in Alaska, yeah Alaska. I joined this forum because i want to start a new hobby. Lately my Dad has quit smoking and he is having a rough time getting past it and i dont want him going back to it, iv lost two close family members already due to cancer and im not going to lose my Dad. So to keep his mind off of cigs, i asked him to help me build a car to race around on a local ice track during our long, dark, cold winters. The car of my choice is an 1989 5.0 Mustang LX hatchback hopefully, but if i find a coupe that would work too. Im on the look for one, but it is hard to come across a decend one up here in Alaska for about 2k maybe 2.5k, which is my car budget. My parts budget is a little over 1k. I will be the one on the forum with all the dumb car questions, but all you car guys and girls should have no problem throwing answers back at me.

Thanks for joining. Good idea w/ starting a project with your father, that should definitely help him keep his mind of smoking. You're doing a good thing, and I'm sure he see's that.
