Best upgrades to help get traction in a foxbody

i have a 1986 mustang gt and My current mods are cold air intake,exhaust , underdrive pulleys and i am getting getting gears ether 3.55 or 3.73's and im worried about getting traction from a dead stop......any upgrades i can do to get better traction besides slicks

Definately ditch the stock contoll arms and get a set of good quality ones ( UPR,BMR,UMI, and Metco all make good ones) adjustable rear shocks will help alot Strange makes nice ones that are reasonably priced. Drag radials.

if thats all is done to the car you will need alot more than 3.73 gears to loose traction, i put a set in my 85 and there wasent much diffrence, in traction wize, i could do alot better burnout with the stock gears

dont forget to do torque box reinforcemeints if u run a sticky tire..especially if you are useing megabite control arms.....personally i only use the pivot ball control arms. (http://www.uprproducts.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=367) these put a lot less stress on your torque boxes when going around turns and getting the car sideways.
UPR is my company of choice. maximum motorsports make a great control arm if you can afford them...some drag springs for weight transfer and mickey thompsons and yes they make a huge difference

I am using Strange adj struts up front with stock springs and swaybar. In the rear I have Southside lowers, battle boxes, springs that are 1 inch higher than stock with stock shocks and sway bar. I run M/T drag radials (275/60 15). On the track I get easy 1.6 60fts and on the street the has decent traction. Its a pretty simple setup and the results arent too bad. As far as power goes-- a friend of mine had a 91LX that he used to run at E-town. That car could yank the wheels on every pass and the motor was STOCK. Not even a throttle body. He had gears,exhaust,tires,suspension etc but no motor work. And yes 3.73 gears will cause a traction problem. But its a good problem to have.

Upper and lower control arms first. Then springs and shock if you need. I recommend UPR, Team Z, Maximum or Wolfe Racecraft for suspension.

wow thats the first time ive EVER herd of something like that from UPR...there customer service was always top notch when ive delt with them. ive never had a prob with there parts hmmm thats deff a shocker

I don't mind a disagreement but UPR is all I run. The only thing that's not UPR on my car is the rear lowers. They are Wolfe offsets for the mini-tub. I put almost 200 passes on my car last year and had not 1 single problem with the stuff. As a matter of fact, I trust it so much i'll be making 8 second passes on it this year. (I hope) LOL
As far as customer service, they have some of the best I have ever experienced. Jeremy stops at nothing to help! I guess everone can have a bad day!

I have UPR upper/lower rear arms..they are quality pieces, nothing like that BS going on in that thread, but a PITA to install..they didn't fit right with new bushings, the stock bolts weren't long enough..etc....
