Arghh!! Mach 1 Grille Delete Nightmare!!

whats up guys, i ordered the mach1 grille delete from AM. i got all 3 parts. including the optional grille frame. ok, so i took out the original grille no problem. i put in the new frame, with no problem. now im trying to put the bottom part, the one with the 2 lips underneath. of course, both lips broke off, but i glued them back on. so now i fit it but im trying to screw the 2 plastic retainers that are on each side (right by the headlights). now here is the issue, the retainers go in, but the screws dont, they go about half way and stop, no matter how much i screw or push them. any ideas? ive been going at this for a while now, i only came back up cuz my fingers are getting numb from the cold, lol. i didnt proof read what i just wrote so forgive me if i dont make any sense

I had the same problem with mine, I had to break off the two bottom lip pieces becasue they didn't cover the holes on the Saleen bumper and my two screws wouldn't grab either.

I got two longer self tapping screws, painted black and that held it down and used 3m double sided adhesive along the bottom to the bumper, could never tell.

I got two longer self tapping screws, painted black and that held it down and used 3m double sided adhesive along the bottom to the bumper, could never tell.

Self tapping screws from autozone and i put the adhesive on before the screws. Make sure its in the right spot before you push it down lol.

oh boy, this sounds like its gonna be fun lol. ima get the screws tomorrow. u used the same 2 plastic retainers right? all i have to do is just use the new screws to make the new grooves inside?

thnx bro, im tryin to figure out when im going to finish it. its been freezing out there lately! the only time i have is fri's and sat's/ and both days are in the 20's!!

quick call to AM and they sent me a new kit the very next day! installation was done in 5 mins and went on perfectly. i guess they musta sent me a dud lol. car looks sooo secsiiii nowww but my sister HATES the grille delete lol
