8.8 rear end on 65 mustang

is it possible to put a rear end from a sn95 mustang on a 65 mustang??? how do you lower a 65 mustang? if it has leaf springs

You would have to weld on spring perches.
8.8's do fit. My friend has a '67 with an Explorer 8.8

Shit, I just remembered he's still got an 8" but it has Explorer brakes and 5 lug axles (aftermarket).
Sorry for the confusion.

Explorers have 5 lugs and rear discs.

I dont know what a swap would cost. Shouldnt be too terribly expensive if you use used parts and have new perches welded on.

the swap is fairly simple, just measure from drum to drum to see which length will work best for you as a sn95 rear is longer than a 79-93 rear. the perches are cheap but they need to be welded on and it must be done right . as for lowering a leaf spring car you mount the spring on the underside of the rear instead of the top. Price shouldnt be too much,depending on what youre looking to do id say 500$
