So if anyone was reading the classic forum I started working on my 69 Coupe, stripping off the crappy old cheap dark blue paint. Here are the pics of what I found under the bondo & crappy blue paint. Rot spot in front & behind the l/s & r/s rear wheels, also found evidence of some damage that was pulled out by a dent puller on the upper front section of the l/s rear quater panel just below the quater window. 1990LX is going to post the pics for me later.

It's always nice to see progress. So Looking at the photos,I'd say you're done stripping?Time to break out the cutting tools.


P.S. I'm not sure if you are still interested in the 69 sheetmetal parts that I have(I haven't heard back from you)? No biggie if you are not, I'll probably end up dragging them out to Carlisle next week as I really need to free up some space.

I have a little more of the r/s lower rear quater panel to do & the roof & the shell will be stripped. As far as the sheet metal I am still interested, but if you can sell them go ahead, if you dont sell them let me know. I am going to try to take a weeks vacation in July, so if you do not sell them I can probably drive down then & get them.

Gotcha, I'll bring them to Carlisle as I really need space over here. I'd love to see you buy them(my loss your gain) but I really want them gone.

Well after trying to put on a new exhaust on my DD Ranger I needed more parts so I could'nt do it today I figured so the day is not a complete waste I would do a little work on the 69 Coupe today. I started cutting out the rotted sheet metal in the l/s rear quater panel in front of the rear wheel, the first pic in the above post by 1990 LX . No pics yet, but when I am off from work next Tuesday I will work on the l/s rear quater behind the rear wheel & I will take some pics of both spots to post. Thats it for today.

Well today I didnt have to be at work until 3:00 pm so I did more work cutting out of the rotted sheet metal this morning. It took me a couple hours but I got the rotted metal above & behind the l/s rear wheel cut out. I have to do some trimming to the outer wheel house to get rid of some rot there also. I took some pics of my progress & will e-mail them to 1990 LX AKA- Jeff so he can post them for me.
