What choices would I have for a Shifter for my set up ???
(4R70W AODE Automatic)
I have a Std GT set up now I guess BUT I have a lot going on with the shifter. Herman made a Custom Button on the shifter for the Transbrake and I have the Line Lock button on there too and all wiring is internal (I assume in the hollow of the shifter ?)
So I would have to have a shifter with AT LEAST 1 extra button for the Trans Brake, plus a place to mount my Line Lock, plus something that allows me to easily down shift (remember I have a Manual VB). I know any slap shifter I've used in the past is pretty much set up to bang them going up but to downshift you would have to lift up the handle, unlock the shiter, and go back into the manual gate (that would be a real pita)
Half the reason I never considered it is because I dont know if I could get something to fit and look as good as this. AMOF the one and only complaint I have is no lock between 1st and 2nd (I have gone from 1st to 3rd MANY times as a result). Reverse has a lock out, 2nd to 3rd has a stop (lock), it's just the 1st to 2nd that has no stop or lock.
OR
Can I use an electric, air, or gas solenoid for the 1 to 2 shift (for those special occasions) I havent had any luck finding one for the stock shifter ???
I put a second switch in last week to throw it in OD so I dont have to lift my short fat ass off the seat to reach the one behind the shifter
