Its very simple. Drain some of the coolant, take off the 2 hoses, take out the 2 bolts where it connects at each side of the alternator, pull it straight up. That's it, glad I could help LOL.
Edit: Installation is opposite of the removal!

im having trouble finding a new one. on latemodelrestoration they have for 99+ but i cant find one for 96-98. they have just the plug for 96-98 but not the crossover itself. i called a couple local dealerships they said its discontinued and they will call around to find one somewhere and have it shipped, if they do happen to find one. said the price is around 150 plus shipping, comes with new sensors.
was a breeze to take off though. thanks for the help guys
just pull yours out, sand it, 2 light coats of high temp primer, and a few coats of high temp black paint, or what ever color you want to make it. and it'll turn out sick. i just painted my plenum a few minutes ago, looks sick

thats what i orig. wanted to do, but looking at it, and the underside of it, its badly rusted and i dont want it to give out on me or something. if i did repaint it though id also need a new cap bc at one point the old one was like seized on there and its stripped now and i have to open it with channel locks, so its all chewed up
edit** i forgot i had the pic posted lol. you can obviously see its chewed up, but that one spot is badly rusted esp. on the underside
