Hey all -
So my Vortech S/C 2001 puts down about 370 to the wheels. It was a somewhat modest tune from Mustang Magic at the time, as I thought I would drive more often. I have another car to daily drive so I'm looking to have some more fun with my car.
That being said, my stock clutch is having issues (bought the car stock 2 years ago from a kid who most likely banged gears on the way to the supermarket...). So I bought a stage 2 clutch, maximum motorsports cable, and new clutch fork figuring i'd be set. However, some friends have suggested that if I upgrade the clutch and re-tune the car to 390-400 rwhp, i'll grenade the transmission. I want to take it to the track once or twice this summer and then I may sell the car. But now i'm worried i'm going to destroy my T-45. It has some slight synchro issues (2nd and 3rd), but a shop quoted me $450 to rebuild it if they do the clutch at the same time (+$400).
Opinions? Thanks in advance
