A very unique 2014 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet was auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas this weekend, raising $200,000 for charity. The turn-key race car, which has a special serial number of 2014BJMSCJXX1, is a prototype and features a Fiery Orange satin exterior with dark grey reflective Cobra Jet graphics. The car is also race-ready, with the Cobra Jet-spec supercharged 5.0-liter V8, T4 racing transmission, 9-inch rear end, 3-link rear suspension, wheelie bar, Recaro race seats, certified safety cage and more.
The winning bidder of the one-off Cobra Jet isn’t just going home with the car, though. Training at Roy Hill’s Drag Racing School, a tour of Ford Product Development and the Ford Design Studios with Mustang Chief Engineer Dave Pericak, as well as a video of the vehicle build, testing and auction at Barrett-Jackson was also included as part of the package.
Like all of the special Mustangs Ford auctions off at Barrett-Jackson, 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to charity. For this particular car, the $200,000 raised will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to help support those living with this disabling disease of the central nervous system.
