I believe my 88 gt has a t5 in it.I just bought it three weeks ago.I was shifting from second tothird annd when I did the shifter just went limp and I was able to move it like it was in neutral.I let out the clutch just a little to see if I was in gear and it started to grind. So I towed it back and to the cover of the knob and the upper case where the four Allen bolts are is loose and the shifter will not go in any gear. Any ideas

Sounds like your cable adjuster may have slipped the cable and you lost tension to disengage the clutch when you push in the pedal. Simple fix! I would have to see it but it sounds like your prob. GL

When I push in the clutch it disengages. But if I let off of it while it runs it seems as though it is in a gear but the shifter acts like it's in neutral.

Ok so then it inst the cable then. Maybe the linkage on the shifter stb. Do you have stock shifter set up on the t5?

pull the for bolts out and inspect the shifter sounds like the role pin broke
