Smell of fuel under the hood

So, this afternoon after a quick ride home I go to check my fluids and I smell a fuel odor coming from under the hood. The smell is faint and you really got to take in a big wiff to even realize it.

Now, I naturally assumed the worst and look all around every fuel connector for wettness or any sign of leaking. I have found nothing so far.

I also understand that the gas tank filler neck grommet is a problem area, but I've ruled this out on account its brand new and I checked it out today. Also, my injectors and fuel pressure regulator are brand new.

What isn't brand new is any part of my emission control components. I suspect a faulty perge canister or solenoid.

What are your thoughts?

lol its normal

u are very particular, and i respect that, but 99% of gasoline fueled engines, will, believe it or not, omit a "faint" odor of gasoline.

whoda thunk it?!?!

personally, I enjoy the smell......alot.

^^^ lol, that's a good point, but I've been under the hood of my own car so much that I can notice the difference in smells.

Last night I gave it a real shakedown to look for physical fuel leaks and luckily found none.

I've got it narrowed down to the charcoal canister or quite possibly, a tiny exhaust leak.
