S197 Forum Info * PLEASE READ *

Our section is getting pretty slow, why don't we speed some stuff up, get some motivation!! I know there are lurkers out there afraid too ask questions, but there is no reason to be. There are no n00b questions and you will not be judged here. Feel comfortable to ask anything tech related to your S197 and I promise it will be answered. Just create your own thread.

I just ask that you please keep All For Sale posts out of this section along with all Media not "tech related". There are appropriate sections for everything, right here on the forum.

We also do have a search tool "located on the same bar as User CP" you can use to research any topic to see if it has been discussed before.

i just bought an 08 gt and im looking to put exhuast on it and im not sure what direction to go anyone have any thoughts ??

Hey

To best gauge what kind of exhaust you want I would poke around Youtube and hear what peoples exhaust setup sounds like. If you like it ask what they have and what mods are done to it etc. then from there you can pick what you like best because everyone has different tastes in exhaust sounds.

Wish I could help. I am on my 5th or so different exhaust, but i really like it now.

Having some trouble with it being that it is a custom set up, but will get it figured out.

These are the setups that I had:
Quiet but has some grunt------------Stock
Loud and ear piercing---------------Offroad H with pypes mid muffler
Loud and crackly------------------- Offroad H with a magnaflow 18" resonator no mufflers.
Deep and quiet----------------------Offroad H with magnaflow resonator and flowmaster mufflers
Deep but raspy-----------------------Offroad h with just flowmaster mufflers

Current setup
Deep and throaty---------------------pypes L/T headers, offroad H directly into a magnaflow 18"resonator directly followed by pypes m80 muffler, no axle back mufflers, this is all before the rear axle.

start off with mufflers then as you get bored buy h pipe then if its too loud then buy resonators.

My new set up flowmasters square mufflers, pypes H Pipe & Dynomax Resonators.

Has anyone installed the 4 point K-Member brace with torque limiters if so has it helped with the shifting problems that come with the 2008 GT 5 speeds.

eps700 whats up i have 09 gt i have flow master with the off road x-pipe by pypes it sound amazing and can feel the differance. hope this helps 09warpony.
