Re-tinted tailights today VHT Nite shades/clearcoat

Ok so some may remember i ripped off my tinted overlays on my tailights so i could re-tint them using VHT nite shades and clear coat. well it showed up today...and i re-did them along with my buddies 636R's turn signals....came out really nice....glossy as hell too...here's the pics. We may also have some video of these two vehicles in mexico tonight.

i've been wondering about this stuff myself. the pics don't do it much justice i don't think.....is easy to use like rattle can paint or does it spray on thin just trying to get a idea of what i wan to do

Looks really good. Hard to see the brake lights through the tint though (judging from the pictures). How many coats did you do?

Its just like spray paint...hard to judge the coats though...if i were to do another set i would do 2 coats and let it dry and test brake visability...i did 4 coats, but i had a few blemishes i had to cover so it was a heavy 4 coats...and 3 coats of clear for glossiness...they match the paint very well though. I'm ordering LED bulbs from lethal to brighten these suckers up..because the tails look insane this dark.

4 heavy coats plus 3 coats of clear...i got a package deal on amazon.com

Im confused by the question....I tinted the factory tailight housings not the actual light bulbs...lol

I had tinted overlays but ripped them off in favor of the VHT spray tint

They are dark as hell, but johnny law hasnt done anything yet and ive been tailed a few times already...local cops know the car already. State trooper hit me with a thumbs up a few days ago while cruising on i-95

I just pulling mine off the car and sanded them down more so you could see the brakes better. People kept saying they couldn't see my lights and I don't need to get rearended. I might clear coat now. thats nice. I just wet sanded with 2000 grit and they polished right out.

yeaah, yours were hard to see a couple weeks ago- barely knew you were there until my headlights hit you!

Def. looks sweet but they do seem kinda dark to tell your actually braking :idk:

Yea when we cruised to the BK lot that day it was still light out but I could see yours...It was pretty hard though....At first I was starring at theme to tell If Id be able to!They do looks Sweet though!

yeah I didn't realize how bad they were. they should be good now but I may just take a little more off just so I don't have to worry about being rearended when I stop.
