The Mustang has been around since the beginning of time. Well maybe not that long, but pretty close. In the mid 1980s Ford would introduce the 5.0 liter engine in the Mustang. I know for most people that think of Mustang, they think of a Mustang 5.0 engine. The engine was re-introduced in modular form to replace the 4.6 engine, which would increase the horsepower output and add cubic inches to the motor.

In 1995 Ford pulled the plug on the 5-liter and 1996 would start the 4.6-liter era. In the years to come their where a lot of disappointments and discussions from enthusiast when the 5.0 went dead. Sixteen years later Ford realized it was time to bring the 5.0 back. The 5.0 liter will produce over 400 horsepower, which is substantial compared to there older model.
The people over at Stangnet.com have worked with Ford to start a wicked project car that will be called “Project built to Cruise”. The base of the build will be a clean 1989 Mustang LX notchback. They will be installing a brand new 2011 5.0 liter engine in the LX and upgrading many other parts on the car.
