okay first of all I have a stock 1986 engine . I pick up a upper and lower intake from 96 ford explorer. I installed it now she runs rich, and wont idle now the diferents between the two lower intakes is the stock had a place for a (act) air charge temperature sensor and the explorer doesn't have a place for it .
If you want you can also relocate the ACT to the airbox or anywhere in the intake piping like the newer cars. One benefit is that the sensor will react quicker and not get heat soaked. This is a little trick that many people do on sc'ed foxbodys especially with meth injection. Usually it gets located in the discharge pipe before the tb.
