I am starting to get very antsy. Engine due date is the beginning of this week. Plan is to call the builder tomorrow morning to try and schedule a pick-up time. I have a wedding this weekend, so will hinder getting the engine in the car.
I also traded my 24lb injector and MAF setup for a Lucas 38lb injector and MAF setup, now thinking about just biting the bullet and getting 42'lb Ford injectors that i found for a great price. Also bought a new batt/temp cluster as my temp gauge was shot.
Well finally got a hold of the builder. New issues with the engine. The piston to valve kind.
Kinda find it weird there are issues when you order a custom cam to your engines specs?
Didn't even ask for a new eta......
So agreed on 2:15 today to meet and pick up the engine. Builder wasn't there and had an emergency for a client. Never called to notify me of change of plans. But it gets better, engine still isn't done. Going back tomorrow for the final time. Its coming home in pieces...
And still no engine......
Said it will be done At 4 today. Got a call at 4 saying done at 5-5:30. Wouldn't answer phone. Drove to his shop to an engine still not done. Said an additional hour and a half. Here we are at 9:30 at night and he won't answer yet again.
Well i've finally got something to show for. The engine was finally done and in my possession at 12:08AM today. After hours of no phone calls and myself finally getting angry enough we went up to the shop at 10PM. Still upset over the situation, but at least i now have my engine back.
I need to pull the rockers back off to replace the guide plates. I need adjustables, my rocker tips are all over on the valves. Also was suggested to me to get different poly-locks as the ARP units I have are too short and the head contacts the rocker itself.
