iPod mount / input

What are you guys doing for iPod inputs and mounting? I've got the shaker 500 in my 05 and it's got the aux input. I figure I can use the RCA to headphone cable to run it from the rear but I don't know how that would sound.

I'm not really worried about controlling it from the shaker itself. I just want a clean sound. The FM modulator's are God awful and in Queens the reception just sucks.

I know the 07's have an ipod input in the console unforunately the 05's dont.

Also where are you guys mounting them? I'm thinking I can just run the cable right into my glove box to keep it hidden but I'm open to checking out some mounting points.

That's what I'm thinking. I just don't know what the inputs look like on the back of the shaker. Would it work with RCA to Headphone cables or do you think I'm gonna need an adapter? I'm scouring the web for pics of the rear of the shaker but I can't find any..

I think I figured it out. Looks like I need to buy a PIE adapter - Model number
FRD04-AUX


This plugs into the back of the shaker. Then use RCA to complete the install.

That write up is perfect! That's going to eliminate alot of the guesswork when removing the center console. Thanks dude

The pie adapter is awesome. I have it, it is a little pricey but if you want to change head units, it has the voltage regulator built in so you do not get a "pop" when turning on the radio.

I have it with my fb700 with navigation, and ran my cables under the console and into the arm rest. You are going to have to notch the access door in the console for the cables. That little access door is also where I put my trunk release button.

at least u guys have an aux input! us oldies gotta buy aftermarket accessories that use the radio and sounds shitty

what i do now is burn cd's! lol every month or so, i burn a new cd with the songs i want. tiring process but sounds GREAT in my mach 1000
