Idle low after TB install

Stang idles at 350-400 rpm now since the TB install. How do I adjust? Are all semi modded stangs about the same rpm at idle, or every car different? Im pretty sure that before the install she idled at around 650. I also have SCT xcal that can adjust idle rpm. What do I do

you might have to adjust the tune to the new tb actually. you have more air coming in and you may be running lean

what about the idle screw on the TB? The instructions call for a feeler guage to check the distance between the screw and the throttle linkage. Thats german to me right there. Should I let the car idle and adjust and check the tach and so forth until I get 650 rpms or does it need to be profesionally tuned? I can adjust the SCT to whatever I want is that all I need to do?

I would adjust it on the tuner. Probably better off retuning the car. Now you have the bigger throttle body, if effects more then just idle. When I did my throttle body on my 98, made a difference big time.

what rpm should I be at?

U need to adjust the tps Throttle Position Sensor, make the two side screws loose slightly, start the car move the sensor counter clock wise, what brand TB did U get? rpm's should be between 850 and 950

I just purchased a new TPS from the ford dealer a few days ago and I'm wondering how to do this myself. I have a Accufab 75mm throttle body and plenum. I'm not trying to jack your post. Sorry bro.

no worries Pope, I started the car and idle was just below 800 now. I moved the TPS but no change, I got the SCT out and adjusted it to 900 and its bn 850-900rpms.

Is the TPS adjustable on the throttle body? I have a xcal 2. Maybe I should give it a shot?

ya, the TPS is on the front of the TB, be careful when taking the two screws off. I stripped the heck outta one of them and it was a PITA to get off. BBK recommends using an impact screwdriver.

I didnt use the supplied TPS bushing, found it in the bag this morning...is that absoluty needed?

I was looking at the directions on the Accufab website. They don't you to touch the screw on the throttle body. When I get the new TPS, I'm gonna have to play with it I guess. The littlest things are such a pain in the ass. lol

you didn't let me finish lol, once U make the adjustment on the tps, you turn your engine off, disconnect the batt for about 3 min. so that U reset the ECU, reconnect batt and go for a drive about 25-40 miles so that the ECU could learn your new set-up and driving habits, it's a pita, but it work every time, glad you were able to work everything out with your SCT.

Question tho, my car has a custom tune on it by Real Speed. Is anything gonna mess up since I have the custom tune on the car and I adjust the idle?

ok thanks chris give it a try, gotta get this right.... when I am in D with breaks applied rpm is at almost 200.
