help with vortech v1

Hey guys one thing i got everything in all i need is to run is vacuum line or lines
from BOV ( without fmu)

Hook that vac line right to the upper intake if you can,if not the vac tree on the firewall will work. I assume you have a bypass instead of bov. If you check out the vortech instructions they show the orientation of the bypass to get it facing the right way.

You will either need to get a bypass valve or get a maf that will work with a blow thru setup if your going mass air. Once the meter has measured the air it can't be blown off to the atmosphere. If you want to keep a bov it must be before the maf.

Yep you need a bypass valve. Doing a blow thru setup would be required to use it correctly. And that would be a lot of work.

the BOV that i have it its seating in the middle of the pipe from blower to intake manifold kit that i got will show me where to move bov and where to put maf ( i would think)

Not a fan of C&L meters myself, always a pain to tune. That meter is not a blow thru meter.

You don't need an fmu with 42's. You need a 255 or 340 lph pump and you'll be fine.

Get the 340. My tuner say I'm pushing "pilot duty" of my 255. I'm not really a fan of a boost-a-pump which just makes your existing pump spin faster altho I have not heard of one making a pump fail.

ok today i got blower spinning nice i didnt get my mass air conversion kit i hope it will be shipped soon to me so i have SD for now as soon as my car gets to boosting point cuts off ill wait till i get my mass air kit and 340 pump and ill take her for a dyno tune

this is what i understand
By draw through .....MAF --> SC -->Throttlebody
Blow through.........................SC --> MAF -->Throttlebody
The arrows are the direction of the air.
can if i will cut my pipes from draw thru and make it look like blow thru will BOV set up work?

Ive tuned a few Vortech and Paxton cars I can help you out. 42lbers are fine, I prefer a SCT/Granatelli BA2400 mass air meter myself or even a Lightning 90mm. I steer clear of the calibrated mass airs unless someone already has one. I actually changed out a pmas 75mm for a stock 93 Cobra 70mm on a h/c/i car and it ran much better. 255lph pump is fine.

can the sct ba2400 be used as blow thru on a new edge vortech set-up?
i am going blow thru as i will be intercooling my set-up.
i have heard alot of people use the pmas or slot style, but i already have the ba 2400....so thats why i am asking if i could use the ba2400 as blow thru vs draw thru?
also, i dont want to run a bov, can i use the stock vortech bosch bypass valve in my set-up ? thanks dsblk

What's wrong with calibrated maf's? If you're tuning it or having it tuned, you just need to make sure the maf sensor you get has a calibration that covers the max flow you're engine will see (so the signal doesn't get clipped

1988 mustang with sd but my conversion kit in transit to ny
