healy coil?

well just found out 1 of my head bolt holes are healy coiled is this bad since im upgrading the heads and stuff?

It's not the best fix, but my brother uses it a lot with good results. Do you have a tap and die set? That's really the best thing to do.

heli coil is just as strong and its the only fix unless youre going to have a machine shop weld and drill/tap a new hole.

Is the heli-coil in the block? If so, do not drill it out. Making the hole bigger then tapping it wont solve the problem as you will need to find a much bigger head bolt to fit and it might not pass through the head. Leave the heli-coil alone it will be fine.

I should have read closely,:smash: like toomanytoys said, if you tap it, then the bolt won't fit through the head.

sorry but what does healy coiled mean......i have heard about it before but im lost........:smash:

its basically replaceable threads. you cant just install them. you need to tap and then a helicoil kit.
