I really want my car to sound better and louder... Should I change my headers ? If yes, what kind, and how much do they cost ?

technically you can take them off, but i wouldnt get rid of them. try and make them interchangaeable with a new piece of pipe. that way you can switch them back in when inspection time comes around

Why not an O/R mid pipe, there are a lot of guys on here that can refer you to someone that will more or less give you a sticker....

Not 100% positive, but I heard catless 6ers sound horrible....even with true duals....

anyway-

headers: the stock tubular manifolds dont really rob power until you are in the 350hp range. switching to a shorty headerr design will not have much, if any, power gain, nor much of a difference in sound. the rea difference comes from longtube headers. they are available from MAC and Pacesetter. these will give better sound, and about 10rwhp on a otherwise stock 6.

rest of the exhaust- right now, you have the MAC catback that goes from single -> dual, right?

have ti changed to true duals. a crossover isnt required, since 3.8's have an even firing and dont gain anything from the crossover(not applied to 05+ sixxers). this will louden it up a bit. also, you oculd switch to off road exhaust(no cats), or high flow units.

when it comes to it, the best system would be longtubes to a H pipe(catted or not), and a catback.

I'm telling you guys, 3.8s with hallowed out cats and a 50 series flowmaster are as close to a V8 sound as your going to get. It actually sounds pretty good too.

either way- MAC is the only company that makes a matching midpipe for LT's, and sadly the catted ones went OOP a few years back. even used ones are 300 bucks+:nono:
