H Pipe options

I was checking out some mid pipe combo vids last night and I think I want to get a o/r H pipe instead of an x. Right now I have stock heads, SLP LM1 catback. With the H setup I think it would not be as raspy. The LM1 is pretty raspy at times, but I am not in the position to change that right now.

Found on ebay, says that it was used only 50 miles but looks to be worn out? This is also for long tube headers.
American Muscle offers the Shorty H pipe for $110.
I am not planning on changing out my headers for awhile. So with the stock headers can I get either of these?

i cant wait to get a mrt catted h. i was going to go with a off road h but to much of a hassel. waiting on sss catback to get here

The H pipe typically is not as raspy as the X pipe. There is no huge advantage between the two so either will serve its purpose fine. That ebay midpipe won't work however. It is too short. It will only work with Longtubes.

you need an h-pipe setup for shorty headers if you have stock and arent changing to long tubes, $110 is actually a pretty good deal for a midpipe considering and OR H for my car runs about double that

yeah the LM1's are quite raspy at times, i would suggest against an O/R X if you go X.. and if you go H lol Catted or Non catted its gonna sound bad ass either way.

In NYS with an OBDII car all that has to pass is the ready code. If you get MIL eliminators or a SCT/Predator hand held you will be set as long as you chip 20-40 dollars to the inspector.:D Albany will think you passed.

An H-pipe with straight throughs will sound eh. An X will make more hp up top but does lose some tq down low compared to a H-pipe. The trade off doesn't become to noticeable until you have a high hp car. Then the X is the clear winner.

I have a SLP LM1 with a Pypes OR/X and it sounds pretty damn LOUD, but it can get higher pitched when getting on it. Although I have NEVER received a negative comment on my exhaust. I wish it were louder though. I would like my exhaust to sound like the nitemares of 10000 children.

Flowmasters aren't known as Slowmasters for nothing. They suck at making power. You are better off JB welding your exhaust shut.

Sweet thanks for all the info ya'll. I think that I am going to go with the h from American Muscle. I just got a set of splice in MIL's from them for a damn steal! I have a SCT already. The guy I take it to does not do visual checks, so I should be set then huh? No having to re install my cats each year?
