fuel pump question

I have a used stock fuel pump out of my 99 cobra you can have. Just cover shipping. It had probably 60k miles on it when I took it out. It is the same one you have in your car now. The svt focus pump is 255 lph and will swap in easily. I had a bad experience with one but seems as though mr99svtcobra has had good luck with his. Google Speed Concepts. It's a genuine Ford part. Mine hasn't failed me yet and it doesn't require a FPDM upgrade because it draws relatively low amperage.

Being that your car has a return system, all you need to do is put the pump in and hook up the electrical and your good to go. Your stock rails are O.K. My previous post was showing you a Supercar pump for a returnless system. There is no need to get a returnless pump if don't need it. A standard 255 Walbro should suit you fine. I would be a little leary of a used pump,even if it has 60 something thousand miles on it. I would be my luck that the pump would take a dive right after I filled the car up.
well I got the pump in the mail at about 4 and haven't finished with it until about 7:30. Huge thanks to Scott (scotts99cobra)for the pump
everything went rather smooth, I found no rust underneath the car. installed the new pump and it doesn't work either, must be a fuse or a relay, i'll check that tomorrow
just took everything apart
2 pumps side by side, original one on the left
read a lot of different guesses on different forums, some people say that a stock GT pump is 88, some say it's 140, or 155. Now i know for a fact
had to modify the bottom of the new pump for the original holder
and soldiered the wires since electrical tape would dissolve in the gas
everything went rather smooth, I found no rust underneath the car. installed the new pump and it doesn't work either, must be a fuse or a relay, i'll check that tomorrow

Do not reconnect the fuel pump. Leave the wires off and install fuse. If it blows again, then you know it is not fuel pump related and is something else.
if it does not blow, then it is a connection in the fuel pump circuit.
Good luck, I know troubleshooting is a pain in the ass, but it has to be done.
