electric fan wiring - new fans

I posted on a couple other forums with no replies. short story I changed my radiator to something that will work better for me with a different upper radiator location to make a better route to the intake. So due to that I'm using the fans that came with the radiator. These fans have a ground and a power.

The stock fan harness obviously has three wires... ground, low speed, high speed.

I sucked at wiring. Dont care to have a switch inside. I just want to use the existing harness and have the fan kick on when it normally would. What do I need to do? Please explain so a 5 yr old could understand.

any help is appreciated. If I need to use a relay I can figure it out. Thats more/less what I was thinking. One for each wire?

I would go with a electric fan controller like this one from summit.

I would think thats more for a car going from a clutch controlled fan, not one that comes with a stock electric fan.

Theres already something in place telling the fan when to turn on. I just want to know what I need to do to run utilize the factory harness.

A relay would be needed for each speed and also the a/c. Each relay would need to be a N/C N/O and be wired to be triggered with the existing harness application ie. the a/c power to one relay, the low speed power to another relay and the high speed power to another relay.

They would have to be ran independently and as each command was triggered it would send a signal to close off the other command and vice versa.

you do not want multiple commands from a/c, high temp to confuse the fan.

This is not an easy task for someone who can "figure out a relay".

The other option is to probe the harness connector and find out what pins do what then wire those to a S/P N/C relay then to the fan.

ok what I was thinking is to use a relay for each (high / low) wire, utilizing each wires signal to switch the relay on for an independant 12v source. I'll draw a diagram of what I was thinking...

found a better way I think, courtesy of modfords... this way one fan is the low speed and both are on for high speed.
