Hey Everyone. I have a 2002 Mustang Gt and i was looking to upgrade my rotors cause they look like shit. I have seen good prices and ebay and they look like pretty decent products. I would like to hear what you guys did about your rotors and how you upgraded them and where you got it from and how much you paid? and do they rust and everything you can tell me about them. your input would be greatly appreciated in helping me choose a good set. i want to change all 4 also whats the biggest sizes i can go i have 18x9 chrome cobra r rims all around thanks!

Nick, if you don't mind me asking, what brand are the cross drilled sollted Rotors? A friend of mine got Cross drilled Slotted rotors + ceramics break pads for all 4s for under $200 on ebay, and they look & function great.

You should easily be able to fit a 13" brake up front and the rears are all the same unless you go after market like Wilwood or Brembo. If you do not want them to rust look for ones that have zinc in them. If you do want to go bigger though you should look into the Cobra upgrade as it is only a couple hundred dollars.

As was stated above avoid cross drilled. I had a buddy with a Z28 break one and sent a pad flying through his wheel well.

I just bought BAER brake system. 13" rotors crossdrilled and slotted all the way around with zinc in them. The kit came with twin piston in the front. It went for 1,200 bucks but it was one of my best investments. the car stops on a dime. I thought i might have and issue with the back tires skidding but with the single piston in the back and twin in the front, I have had not issues. I got on the hard just to be sure.

just get Brembo blanks and Hawk HPS pads for $200 and you'll stop on a dime without the noise. Slotted or drilled rotors create huge amounts of brake dust not to mentiion you go through pads faster.

Cross drilled and slotted rotors worked great on all my previous cars also make sure you point the slots in the right direction i have seen so many people with them on backwards

Stay away from Cross Drilled rotors, they do nothing but look fancy and fail.

Your best off with Blank rotors. If you can't stand the rust, before you put them on paint them with high temp clear (tape off where the pads touch) or get zinc plated rotors.

I'd say get the cobra front kit for around 3-400 bucks Leave the rears alone, they don't do much of anything anyways.

The direction of the slots dont matter, what does matter is the direction of the vanes between the two surfaces, if they are directional.

From what I've seen, ford/Brembo rotors don't have directional vanes, I know corvettes do, as Im sure other aftermarket companies like Baer and Wilwood may as well.
