coolant problems

i was wondering how you go about bleeding the antifreeze on an 02. dont know if thats the problem but after runnining the car the upper rad hose sucks flat. i opened the cap to see if the fluid was low and the air came out and the hose reformed. the fans kick on the heat works upper and lower hoses are both hot. what do you guys think

no nothing. i just started the car this weekend and found that. it doesnt overheat fanswork on time. the car doesnt get that much use its an 02 with 6400 miles. what should i do?

I don't think it's the hose with only 6400 miles is the problem!!...Sounds like the system has a air pocket...I would drain the system & re-fill it again! ...Re-use the same coolent if you'd like with that low of milage...

make me an offer. i would sell it. i really dont have the time for it. im going to have to bring it somewhere to be drained cause i dont have the time. its an 02 360r #58 with 6329 miles white with the blue stripes. anyway where is there a great place on longisland that works on roushs. want a place thats going to treat the car right not like some of these places you go where your car comes out with more scratchs and dents then it went in with

just fill the coolant back up. you just had a air pocket. if you were in the albany area id say bring it to orange ford. thats where i work, my 02 360r is #9. theyre awsome cars:headbang:

how do i get rid of the air pocket. the coolant is filled up i checked i dont need coolant. what is the proper way to bleed the system.

just let it run, dont have the coolant above the marked line though. that will make it take longer. its not hard to do it just takes a little time. some times you have to rev the car up or drive it hard to push the air through. also you can try squeezing the upper rad hose to push air out.also make sure you have your heat on full.

when it warms up and the thermostat opens, open the tank cap and let the air out, then close the cap and start squeezing the upper hose, do so for a bout 2 minutes. open the cap and let the air out. repeat it about 5 times. just let the car to heat up and cool down, open the cap every morning before you're taking your car out. in about 3-4 days it'll be good.
i changed my radiator by myself, so i know how to get an air pocket out

you'll feel the upper hose getting warm, then hot, and it'll be harder. you'll definitely feel it, it normally opens when your needle is pointing up. if it's cool and soft(no water in there) meaning the tstat didn't open yet.
btw don't get too exited squeezing the hose lol.

well if your tstat is stuck open youd have to drive it for hours to get up to temp in the winter. its not gunna be rock hard when its hot with the cap on but it will be pretty firm. youll feel a difference. when you start it while its still cold feel the upper hose. it will be cold and you shouldnt feel the coolant moving, youll be able to squeeze it and feel coolant though theres always gunna be water in the upper hose unless you have a massive air pocket there. but i cant see there being such a big air pocket that theres no water in the upper hose. as the temp keeps going up keep your hand on it. youll feel the coolant start to flow and it will get hot. when the cap is on youll be able to feel it getting harder as the psi gets up as it heats up.

...Turn the heat on FULL Blast as well!!! ...No hot air would indicate a air pocket!

i let it run for an hour, heat on full blast, have heat, car doesnt over heat. upper hose gets hot on both ends but cooler in the middle. while running opened the cap it didnt explode out or anything just air came out. put the cap back on and let it run a few more mins and turned it off. guess what the hose squessed closed. opened the cap again and more air came out and hose reformed. lost right know dont know what to do know. let me know what u think
