Okay so everyone will probably laugh at me, but I'm going to ask this anyway...
I decided that I want to get another car, which I settled on the original one I wanted which is an 00-04 convertible.... So i've been looking around at them and my question is, why is (for example) a 2000 v6 convert. with 130,000 miles with no extras $10k? I mean for $20k I can get an 07 convert with less than half the miles... could someone explain this to me?? Cause it makes no sense to me....

Haha because i'm an insomniac... and because i'm nervous cause I have a job interview tomorrow... and because I really want a convertible!

You can get a Cobra Vert for $20,000... Its all in your preference and budget.If you have only 10Kyour going to need to shop the 10K market. The more $ you have to spend the more options you have.


Also - there is never a stupid ? Here on NYM!!

anyways, i'm talking just base v6 2000, with a bunch of miles... i'm not talking anything special... why do people think 10 year old cars (even if they are mustangs) with stock everything are worth as much as newer cars? I mean I check kbb and its like 4k, but people want 12k, how does that make sense?
Its not like i'm shopping 60's or 70's... i just don't get it...

Well i kbb'd that car and its still 800 more than it should be in excellent condition...

I want an 00-04 but i might as well spend more and just get a new one and at least have a warranty...

I've been looking on craigslist and everywhere else, all private sales... I dont want to go through a dealer and i have cash so thats not a problem...

but i just feel like paying 1000 or more over blue book for a stock car with over 60 or 70k is ridiculous...

oh well i guess ill just have to wait a few months and get a new vert... haha

yeah thats what i thought... i just dont understand people though... in this economy to say no to cash is ridiculous...

on a completely different note I offered a puppy store (yeah i know they suck but i fell in love) $750 cash for a 4 month old mini poodle puppy and they said no! i was like seriously??!?!

people just DON'T make sense!

I emailed 2 different people about verts in ny... they look promising even though they have WAYYYY more miles than i want... definitely taking a mechanic to see um though... i don't want someone else's problems

what are you looking for? I can do some digging for you.


also, dont worry so much about the 3.8's. they are damn near bulletproof, no real problems. at least for the driveline.

I'm looking for an 00-04 vert, 6 or 8 doesn't matter, under 100k miles for around 5k, depends on the car i guess... i would prefer around 5 or less. Prefer red/black, black/black or yellow/black
I don't want to have to paint or do any body work, this would strictly be for fun and weekend trips.
Before i got my 07 my dream was a yellow/black 03... so i want something along those lines...

Hey what's up....all u gotta do is go on craigslist that's where I found my 2001 gun metal gray mustang with 84,000 miles for 3500.....now that was a great deal for a car!!!

Sorry for replying to this so late, but I used to be in the business. Now is a great time to get a great deal on a 4x4. Everyone wants a convertible in the warm weather. The prices will come down once the temperature does. Wait for late fall, early winter and you'll get better prices.

No way would I spend that on an 00 V6 with those miles... I have an 09 V6 that on a trade in they would give me about $13k.

If your on a strict $10k spending diet I would go for at least an 05. They have better performance and probably less miles than the one your looking at.
