Had some time after class today, and has a present from UPS. The girlfriend brought me lunch and gave me a hand mounting the door grilles and some other misc stuff.

I also restored the heater control panel.(didn't get a chance to put the knobs on yet)

I got one seat done, but I realized the bracket set only does 1 seat so I had to order another for the other side. So Monday ill do the other side. Thanks again to my girlfriend for polishing up the stainless trim with some mothers polish.

got the bracket kit for the other seat in the mail today, some of the pics are crappy, the lighting was kind of crappy.

I haven't really done much with the car lately,the holidays, the end of the semester, and having to put a new motor in my daily has left me short time/money wise. However now that I'm on winter break and the daily is up and running again I can get back to it. The car itself hasn't moved an inch since the first of the month, and now that there is snow on the ground it won't until spring. I do have a number of things that still need to be done. The transmission has been leaking fluid and needs to be resealed, the throw out bearing needs to be replaced, the rear end gears are too long (currently 3.00:1 i'm gonna put some 3:70s in). I need to take apart all of the interior panels and address some fitment issues, I need to order and install the roll bar, find a movie correct autometer tach, and do a ton of other odds and ends. So even though the car looks done its far from it.

today I got started on restoring the rear scoop vent boxes, these go behind the upper scoop and have sliders to allow outside air to enter the car.

what im starting with, nasty.

everything all disassembled (notice the corners of the box itself which is fiberglass are broken off.)

all of the rust removed, everything cleaned thoroughly and freshly painted.

also repaired the damage to the corners

the seal isn't reproduced, luckily the original is in good shape and can be cleaned and reused.

I had to move the car to move some stuff around in the garage today and Since it hasn't been started in a month I let the car run for a little and I did a quick walkaround video.

got some more parts in the mail today

new speedo cable, ball bearing conversion for the pedal cluster, to replace the shot plastic bushings in it now.

new pilot bearing, throw out bearing, throw out bearing tube, and a short throw shifter.

I also got the vent boxes all done.

haha with some help from alex(rustyrodder/NYstang) I got the transmission out today, I was amazed at how easy it was, every bolt came right out without an issue only took us about an hour and a half from jacking the car up to having everything off.

Did you check out the clutch? It looks like a stock one but could be a FRPP one I guess. That's not salt under there is it??

the clutch is just a ford racing one, but for a stock 5.0 it really dosn't need anything better. Thats not salt but dust from being in the body shop. If you check a couple posts back I Bought a steeda tri ax that time going to be installing

One of my 5.0 LX actually still had the ORIGINAL clutch at 136k miles when I sold it. So you should be fine. My 93 LX had a FRPP King Cobra with over 400rwhp and never slipped either.

I pulled the steering column and pedal cluster to install the ball bearing conversion. The pedal support needs to be modified so I will be taking it over to ensign autobody where I have access to a welder and all of the other metal working tools.

While I everything was out I noticed that the gas pedal had very little travel, and upon further investigation found that it was only opening the throttle body about 75% which explains why the car was so slow. The original 67 pedal was linkage design so I am running a 69 pedal that has a different design that I modified to run the throttle cable.

so I will be making a spacer to put between teh floor and the pedal bracket to raise it up an inch or so, which will also make the gas pedal just about even with the brake pedal.

I was hoping to either get the ball bearing pedal conversion done or the transmission in, however I couldn't find anyone with a welder to help me out, and the transmission inst all the way done so I decided to do some other little work.
