Unlike the original and unrestored 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 that went up for auction at Barrett-Jackson the day before, the example you see here, which sold earlier today, is one of the more typical we see for sale. The car has undergone a full concours restoration to return the car to its factory condition as much as possible while maintaining its matching numbers drivetrain. This particular Boss 429 boasts the rare 820-S NASCAR engine found on the earlier 1969 models and comes with its warranty papers, build sheet, invoices and Marti Report. The selling price of $291,500 is definitely on the higher side of the current going rate for a prestine Boss 429, but we’re sure the new owner won’t have any buyers’ remorse.
You can read the full description on the car courtesy of Barrett-Jackson, and be sure to check out our photos live from the auction block as well.
