11 mustang mt82 shifter squeak :I

So does anybody else have the problem that when you shift your manual tranny from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 1st you hear a squeak from the shifter? ( Inside the car) ITS DRIVING ME NUTS. Sounds like a tiny mouse in my shifter. Should i open it up and grease it up. Bring to dealer and be car less for a coupke of days or just get an after market shifter B)

Does your shifter have a leather boot? If so, mine does the same thing every now and then. I am not sure why it does it but it is irritating when it does. It seems to happen more during the summer months when it is humid out so I think that may have something to do with it a little bit.
