ok silly question.. but on the 04 cars aside from state inspection or a california smog test is there really any use for the o2 sensors? like if you have a bad one and it keeps kicking off a code does it really matter? taking into consideration you have no cats, mil eliminators for the rear o2 slots, and your car seems to run decent..? i guess i just dont want to replace the two sensors i have that are apparently bad now because money is tight and if their not really important for proper function of the engine im gonna not bother with it.. so i was wondering if its even an issue.

Rear o2 sensors are mearly an emissions thing hence they can be overlooked using MIL's or a tuner. Just make sure that all it brings up is the o2 code and not a hidden lean code or something like that. If the light bothers you hell you can make up a set of MIL's for only like $10 from radio shack parts.
